Security Department

Our Security Department, which is in full operation 24 hours a day/7 days a week, plays a vital role in supporting residents’ physical and emotional well being.

The Director is an experienced law enforcement officer who has been with the Cathedral Village Security department for over 16 years. All of his uniformed Security staff members are Cathedral Village employees, many with previous law enforcement and professional fire-fighting careers.

Security Department:

• Monitors the grounds and buildings at all times, accompanied at night by a professionally trained guard dog.       
• Responds to all emergencies:       
• Emergency calls and fire alarms are routed directly to the reception desk in the main lobby where Security personnel man the reception desk from 4 PM through 8 AM daily.       
• In the case of a medical emergency, a professional nurse and security guard are immediately dispatched to the location.       
• Conducts all fire alarm tests and maintains fire safety equipment.       
• Provides all Transportation services:       
• A regular schedule to local shopping areas five days a week       
• Transportation to and from appointments with medical specialists and hospitals for tests when referred by our medical staff       
• Cathedral Village bus transportation to the Kimmel Center, Academy of Music, National Geographic Society, The Museum of Art and many other venues, including day trips to points of interest planned by the residents.

With advance notice, Security handles private transportation to and from train stations and the airport (incurs a separate fee).

Residents often comment that nothing is more comforting at the end of a trip or an evening event than to see the familiar, smiling face of a uniformed guard whom you know and trust.
