Green Energy and Environmental Safety
Twenty percent (20%) of our electrical supply comes from “green energy” sources. Electrical usage is further conserved by a computerized Energy Management System that controls the supply of electricity to nonessential systems during times of heavy load demand. Additional changes to conserve energy include:
  • Replacement of all interior and exterior hallway lighting throughout the entire community with the highest efficiency rated lighting that the market offers.
  • Supplying all apartments with high efficiency rated lighting in entrance foyers, bathrooms and closets.
  • Supplying residents with Compact Fluorescent Lights (CFLs) for personal lamps at no charge.

Cathedral Village residents actively support our role of preserving a Green and Safe environment. An extensive Recycling Program, managed by Maintenance Department, reclaims and recycles:
  • Paper and cardboard
  • Bottles, cans and plastics
  • Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs and other high efficiency lighting
  • Batteries of all shapes and sizes from the tiniest hearing aids to vehicle and large equipment batteries
  • Computers and television sets
  • Large appliances for scrap metal, including refrigeration equipment after the removal of Freon.
