How will this move change my lifestyle?
Only your address will change, not your personal lifestyle. The way
you live your life is your decision and there are no limitations on
what you can do here. Considering all the services and amenities
available to you, don’t be surprised to find that you are enjoying
your lifestyle more.
Do I have to stop
working when I move in?
Absolutely not! Many of our current residents still work full-time
or part-time jobs. You are encouraged to do whatever pleases you.
The choice is yours. I’m still very active and independent; why
not wait a little longer to move? One of the most frequently
repeated statements made by our residents is, “I wish I had made the
move sooner. I feel like I’m living at a resort.”
If I move now, how can I be sure I'll be able to afford
Cathedral Village in years to come?
All communities require a disclosure of your finances. The analysis
includes projected rate increases and estimated personal expenses.
Once your finances have been approved, the results of your
pre-admission physical for Independent Living, or Direct Entrance to
Assisted Living, have been approved and your contract has been
signed, we have a commitment to care for you for the rest of your
life.
Is there a minimum age for entrance? What about a maximum
age; am I too old?
The minimum age to enter under the published Entrance Fee is 65. In
the case of a couple, one can be under 65 but would pay a surcharge
on the Entrance Fee for every year under the minimum age. There is
no maximum age for entrance if you choose the Standard Basic
Entrance Fee. You may choose one of the 90%, 75% or 50% Refundable
Entrance Fee Plans as long as you are under 85 years of age.
What are the most important things I should look for in a
retirement community?
By reading this web site, you will get the answer to this question.
Everything we offer is considered “most important” especially the
services included in our Monthly Fee that are listed in the
Independent Living section. Although all services that are included
may not appeal to you right now, they may become very important to
you at a later time.
What services are covered under the monthly fee?
You will find this question answered in detail in the
Independent
Living section.
Are you an accredited community?
Yes. Cathedral Village is a Continuing Care Retirement Community
accredited by CARF-CCAC since 1984. We are among the “less than 1%”
of elite communities that have been accredited
six times. How can
I apply to become a resident at Cathedral Village? All you have to
do is give us a call and we will send you an application along with
our brochure. You are also welcome to stop in at any time and pick
up an application and brochure. The reception desk in the Main Lobby
is staffed 24 hours a day.
Are pets allowed?
Well behaved pets are. They need to be leash trained. Dogs need to
be able to stay alone in your apartment for a reasonable length of
time without barking and disturbing the neighbors. Cats need to be
“house cats” or leash trained.
