Accreditation

CCAC LogoCathedral Village, a nonprofit and nondenominational Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC,) is accredited by the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission (CCAC) which was acquired by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) in 2003. It is the nation’s only accrediting agency for Retirement Communities.

Accreditation assures all present and future residents that Cathedral Village conforms to the highest standards of excellence in care and services. The CARF-CCAC organization only awards accreditation to those retirement communities that meet or exceed their exceptional standards which are developed according to the participation of all parties involved, including consumers and payers.

In the process of accreditation, the Board of Directors, management, staff and residents of Cathedral Village undergo a year-long self study of standards that cover all aspects of Governance and Administration, Finance, and Resident Health and Wellness.

Initially accredited in 1984, the process has been repeated every five years since 1987. Less than one percent of retirement communities in the United States have been accredited six times.
